Event Description: Now scheduled and confirmed for August 3, 2019
This single day Saturday learning opportunity is a TVFF Club event and will be taught by Alan Wyosnick, an experienced and confirmed Euro/High Stick nymphing member of the Club. This class is designed for intermediate or advanced fly fishers with existing experience with standard nymphing techniques and proficient casting skills that wish to learn the Euro Nymphing techniques to take their game to the next level.
The trip is tentatively scheduled for the North Fork of the Stanislaus above Arnold and Calaveras Big Trees Park and will meet at the Sourgrass Bridge day use parking lot accessed from Dorrington.
While not primarily focused on actually catching fish this particular day, we are hopeful that in the course of the training we may find a few willing examples. Thus, the session may not be appropriate for those simply looking to get out for a day of fishing. Maximum class size is limited to the first six registrants and guests.
The full day session primarily focuses intently on learning the skills to be successful with European style nymphing techniques such as:
The Morning Session will be structured around the theory and advantages of this style:
The Afternoon Session will be practical on the water experience and putting the morning's session to work in a live environment. This session will cover:
15 min for each angler to try the technique with everyone together
We will then spread out a little on the river and Alan will provide 30 min 1 on 1 with each angler until the end of the day

Accommodations and Food:
Both camping at Sourgrass Crossing (Wakalu Hep Yo (Wild River)) Campground as well as hotel accommodations are available in Arnold and Murphy's for those that wish to make this an overnight trip, and possibly fish the river the following day.
Students should bring their own lunch to have on the river during the lunch break as there are no nearby facilities. For those that are interested there will be a voluntary post class dinner at a location in Arnold after departure from the river. Those wishing to depart for the trip home after the class are free to do so based upon their individual schedules and requirements.
