Fly Tying Get-together - Wednesday, Jan. 10 - Livermore Rod and Gun Club - 7 pm 

 At the January Get Together we will explore the basics of tying surf fly patterns. Take a look at surf perch flies on Google, such as surf dart, gotchas and sand crabs, and these are basic and easy to tie. One common item is the presence of an orange color; the perch are attracted to it!  

Materials:
 Hooks:   4 or 6 standard salt water 

 Flash:     crystal flash, flashabou in  Orange, root beer, pearl, etc.

 Head and body:   cactus chenille, chenille, ice dubbing  in Grays, orange, pink, etc.

 Weight:   Lead dumbbell eyes, cone head
