Surf Flies

This month’s get together introduces surf fly tying, reflecting a growing interest and to support to an upcoming surf fishing outing led by Jim Knecht. The focus will be on two effective patterns, the Surf Rat and Bob Popovic Sand Flea, both likely to attract surf perch, the most common target species. Orange and red are particularly effective for perch attraction, whether used as dominant or subtle accents.
